Family Activity Books Distributed

As parents, we are our child's first teachers, and it is a job we have for life.
An important part of our Reconciliation preparation is done at home with your family using the First Reconciliation and Beyond Family Activity Book. (Clicking on the title opens the online pdf version of the Family Activity Book). The book contains for lessons that are completed prior to our Reconciliation Retreat.

To the Parents of our Third & Fourth Grade Students:
Fourth grade students will receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation on Saturday, April 14, 2018, after spending the day participating in a one-day retreat with parents and teachers to help them be truly ready for this important step. Here are a few reminders and points to remember as we begin these next few weeks of preparation in our Sunday morning classes.
One important thing we ask families to bring - a recent wallet-sized photo of your child.
After February vacation we have one more class before the retreat for the children to work with their teachers to prepare in their classes. Please be sure to continue talking to your child about what is being learned in class. Be sure to do the activities in each chapter that are intended for your family.
Please call the Religious Education office or your child's teacher if you have any questions or wish to help us with our preparations for the Reconciliation retreat.

- We ask that one parent attend the retreat with your child. The day's program will include prayers, songs, crafts and a film called "A Child's First Confession." Some elements of the retreat will be specifically geared for parents, and some for both you and your child together.
- The day's program will begin at 10:30 a.m. and the day will end with a short prayer service upstairs in the Church at about 2:00 p.m., followed by the children receiving the Sacrament of Reconciliation. By 2:30 all the children will have received the sacrament.
- We will provide pizza for lunch and we ask each family to bring either a salad, dessert, or drinks (juice please, no soda) to share. You can also help by contributing to the cost of the pizza if you prefer. We'll provide water, coffee and tea throughout the day.
